Short list, and deliberately so. If you meet these you can start today.
Desktop apps built on Electron routinely weigh a hundred megabytes. Tauri Desktop Depot gives you a Tauri 2 starter whose installers are a fraction of that, with a Rust core for anything that touches the file system or the network and a TypeScript front end for the interface.
It includes a typed command bridge between front end and Rust, a system tray with a menu, global shortcuts, native notifications, a settings store, single-instance handling and a self-update channel with signature verification. A GitHub Actions workflow builds signed installers for Windows, macOS and Linux on every tag.
Lars has locked down the capability configuration so the web view can only call the commands you allow, and the guide explains each permission.

We ported an Electron tool to this starter. The signed update channel and the tray menu worked first time on all three platforms.
Go and Rust engineer with a security habit
Lars started out in penetration testing and moved into backend engineering, so he writes Go services the way an attacker would read them. He maintains the Go API and Postgres tenancy modules and the whole Security line. His audit kits explain the reason behind every check, because a checklist nobody understands gets skipped.
