About this course

The journey

This course builds one finished game from start to end. Using Lua and the free LÖVE framework, you create a pixel-art platformer with smooth movement, tile-based levels, collectibles, enemies, sound and a title screen.

Each lesson adds one feature and leaves the game playable, and at the end you package it for Windows, macOS and Linux so friends can play it.

    Finished my first game, finally

I have started many games and finished none. Following this one feature at a time, I published a real platformer for my friends.

Great, collisions took me a while

Wonderful project. The tile collision lesson needed two viewings, but the explanation is correct and the result feels great to play.
